- Vaccinations (most adult and school age vaccines examples below)

**Please note that ALL children vaccines under the age of 6 will need to book a well-baby/child visit with their practitioner**

- Suture/Staple removal
- Sutures/staples are generally due to be removed after 7 – 10 days or as directed.
- Blood Pressure Check (BP)
- Starting a new BP medication
- Practitioner has recommended regular BP checks
- Contraception (BC)
- Depo-Provera
- Needs to be booked at least 12 weeks from last treatment.
- Wound care (WC)
- Dressing changes recommended by practitioner
- Ear Syringing (ES)
- Must be referred by practitioner first to schedule an appointment
- Requires patient to apply oil of choice (olive oil, baby oil etc.) 3 days prior twice a day to soften the cerumen (ear wax)

- Appointments for injections can only be booked online if your family physician or a specialist has prescribed the medications.

- Well Baby/Child
- Regular check-ups to monitor your child’s growth, development and scheduled immunizations at 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years and annually until 16 years of age
- PAP (CPX)
- Currently, the Ontario Cervical Screening Program recommends that women who are or have been sexually active have a Pap test every 3 years starting at age 21 until the age of 70.
- MTO Form (MTO)
- Driver medical Form ONLY

- BP
- Starting a new BP medication

Our program provides a wide range of services relating to pregnancy, child health, and reproductive care. We know it can be difficult to find a primary care provider and it is our goal to provide comprehensive care. You do NOT need to be a rostered patient with the Norfolk Family Health Team to access these services.

Infant feeding support:
- What we do:
- Lactation consultations from birth to weaning including breastfeeding assessments, use of lactation aids, use of herbals and medications to increase milk supply, combination feeding support, treatment of common breast concerns related to infant feeding (ex. yeast, mastitis, nipple damage)
- Counselling on introducing solid foods including a virtual class and referral to a registered dietician when needed
- Referrals to other providers when needed
- What we don’t do:
- Tongue-tie releases

Pregnancy Care:
- What we do:
- Prenatal care from conception until you transition to your birth care provider (usually around 28 weeks gestation)
- Ordering of routine testing in pregnancy including bloodwork, urine testing, swabs, and ultrasound
- Prescribing commonly used medications in pregnancy including vitamins, nausea treatments, and treatments for common infections (yeast, bladder infections etc.)
- Referrals to obstetrics when needed
- Prenatal classes
- Support during and management of early pregnancy loss with medications and referral for surgical care and mental health support when needed
- Counselling around pregnancy options
- What we don’t do:
- Care during labour and birth
- Initial newborn testing (i.e. the newborn blood screening, initial jaundice testing, initial CCHD screening, hearing testing)

Postpartum Care:
- What we do:
- Care for birthing parents and babies up to 6 weeks postpartum
- This may include home visits during the first week, if requested, and within 30 minutes of our location
- Typically, you see a midwife around 6 times including 2-4 visits in the first 7-10 days, and one visit at 2, 4, and 6 weeks postpartum. We see you more often if needed.
- Postpartum mental health support groups
- What we don’t do:
- Prescribe medications for mood concerns
- Treat infections of cesarean section incisions, the perineum, or uterus
- Prescribe narcotics

Reproductive Care:

- Preconception counselling: Information on lifestyle changes to support a healthy pregnancy
- Pap testing
- HPV testing
- Testing for sexually transmitted infections (including urine testing, swabs of cervix/vagina/rectum/throat/genital lesions, testing for bloodborne infections)
- Testing for yeast and bacterial vaginosis
- Treating infections of the reproductive tract and bladder
- Bimanual examination (feeling the pelvic organs for abnormalities)
- Bloodwork and pelvic ultrasounds for specific indications
- Referral to our sexual health program or gynecology when needed
- What we don’t do:
- Care for people with male genitalia (please book in with our sexual health program for this service)
- Treat reproductive concerns in perimenopause or post-menopause (please book in with our sexual health program for this service)

Contraceptive care:
- What we do:
- Counselling on contraceptive options (i.e., birth control) including emergency contraception
- Prescribe contraception
- IUD insertions and removals
- Referrals for contraceptive implants and permanent contraception

- Insertions and removals of contraceptive implants (i.e. Nexplanon) (please book-in with our Sexual Health program for this service)

- What we do:
- Routine care for children ages 2 months to 6 years, who do not have a primary care provider or cannot access their primary care provider (due to distance, vacations etc.) including:
- Childhood vaccinations
- Developmental assessments
- Basic physical examination- eyes, heart, lungs, weight, height
- Counselling on at home treatment of common childhood conditions and concerns
- Referrals to other providers when needed
- What we don’t do:
- Treat kids who are sick (ex. Ear infections, respiratory infections, bladder infections)
- Prescribe medications (ex. Antibiotics, skin creams, allergy medications)
